Whitepark bay by day and by night.

half term on the north coast
i love a long walk on the beach on a cold autumn day, when there’s frost in the morning on the grass and everyone needs to be wrapped up. Whitepark bay on Monday afternoon was so beautiful. Not likely to see anyone with bare feet so making do with this shot of footprints in the sand.
The poem “footprints in the sand” comes to mind because I heard the Leona Lewis song played in an operating theatre just a week or 2 ago. I first came across the poem read by a cousin at a family funeral more than 30 years ago. It’s a very powerful piece not least because of its ending. http://www.sapphyr.net/largegems/footprints.htm

another weekend on the north Antrim coast
coast from Larrybane
last weekend I walked the coastal path all the way from Larrybane beside the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge to Dunseverick harbour. Lots of wildlife along the way – seals & dolphins playing in Whitepark bay and pretty sure we saw some whales as well! Sadly no photographic evidence of the wildlife but these were my favourite shots.
whitepark bay
one Friday evening in August I was up on the north Antrim coast leaving a hired caravan back to its owner. The view across to Rathlin from White Park bay was at its best in the evening light. Just a scattering of people on the beach and scores of rabbits in the sand dunes.
Whitepark bay
I spent this morning on the beach at Whitepark bay. There was a beautiful clear blue sky with only the occasional cloud. On the way down across the dunes amongst the rabbit holes I took a few shots of the carpet of spring flowers.
whitepark bay in all weathers
spent this afternoon at white park bay – the car park was packed when we arrived. There was a beautiful clear blue sky with clouds way in the distance reflecting on the wet sand…
..the clouds gathered as we walked along the beach. I have seen a lot of rainbows this Easter weekend and this afternoon was no exception.
we managed to avoid getting wet but took this shot just as we got back to the car park.
the north antrim coast
it’s hard to beat a child free weekend on the north Antrim coast.

Whitepark bay facing east.
By this point in the afternoon yesterday my son was loosing patience and asking to go back to the car. This shot faces towards Ballintoy. I will admit the shell was well hidden in the grass around the flowers when I first noticed it!
