Greyabbey.

We spent a weekend down the Ards Peninsula this month.  We stopped off at places I have only driven through before – like Greyabbey (great if you’re into antiques, even better for coffee and scones) or Donaghadee or Crawfordsburn (recommend the Inn too – stayed 2 nights).  As you can see sunshine was not always available.

Greyabbey

Greyabbey is a village on the way down the Ards Peninsula. I think I have always driven through without stopping but this time as we had visitors we found the remains of the Abbey. There is a packed graveyard just beside the church car park with the dramatic ruins of the abbey immediately beyond. We wandered around in the sunshine – you can picture much of the ruins as they once were.
