There is a coast path from Dunseverick west towards the Causeway. I persuaded Sam (my 12 year old) to walk it yesterday afternoon. Very windy – but dry and despite the cloud lots of hazy sunshine. Needless to say we didn’t make it as far as the Causeway due to the “are we nearly there yet” thing. However probably walked for nearly an hour and a half which isn’t bad and the views were stunning.

a few more North coast Easter memories

Ballintoy church from east & west
ballintoy
north antrim coast flora
this afternoon I walked along the coast from Larrybane to Ballintoy to Whitepark bay, Portbradden and finally Dunseverick harbour. Along the way were lots of spring flowers…
Easter Monday
last night we drove along the coast road from Bushmills to Ballycastle. It’s my favourite stretch of the coast. By the time we were eating ice-cream on the beach in Ballycastle the shadows were very long.
On the way back home we stopped off overlooking Ballintoy as the sun disappeared behind the headland.
a field of rapeseed
I noticed this field of rapeseed on my way to work a week ago. So last Sunday morning I parked the car off the road and wondered around the field, getting a few shots. It was still quite early and the rain drops from the night before had not evaporated yet from the leaves.
Silent valley.
Last Sunday was a beautiful spring day – un-usual for us as we choose to go south to the Mourne Mountains ending up in Silent valley.
