May 4th.

A perfect recipe for a May bank holiday (apart from a 47th birthday): drive down to Portbradden, clamber across the rocks and this is the view you get rewarded with

a tiny hamlet nestled between cliffs and the sea, complete with its own tiny church. The waves are crashing on the beach making you wonder if the tide can cut off your trip back to the car.

a little west along the coast is Dunseverick, there is a tiny harbour but further along still the remains of a medieval castle perched on its own headland.
